Intervention for Autism Spectrum Disorders from the PBS Perspective
Featuring Mark Durand, Ph.D
University of South Florida, St. Petersburg
Thursday, November 15th, 4:30 - 6:00 pm EST.
Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are a group of disorders that, at their core, all affect how one perceives and socializes with others. With the alarming increase in the numbers of individuals receiving this diagnosis (believed to be 1 in every 88 children in the U.S.) there is increased urgency to provide effective services.
This webinar will describe how school-based PBS interventions are constructed for these students and how this approach differs from more traditional approaches. Highlighted will be suggestions for structuring the classroom, pitfalls of too much structure, and new work on how to support teachers and families.
